How It All Began
Cantor Nissim Saal was born and raised in Monroe, New York. As a child, he was exposed to Yossele Rosenblatt's captivating performances and fell in love with his works and style. Only two years ago did he begin to study cantorial and opera music in earnest, and today there is no cantorial enthusiast who does not admire his rare abilities. With an impressive and powerful voice, artistic intelligence, and an extraordinary vocal range of about four octaves, he took social media by storm by posting videos from his live performances and publishing high-quality music videos. Beyond his wonderful cantorial performances, Nissim is diverse in his performances, and performs other styles such as opera, musicals, and Chassidic music. To date, he has already performed in the most important halls in Israel: the Tel Aviv Hall of Culture, the Israeli Opera House, and the International Convention Center in Jerusalem, as well as in the USA and other countries. He has performed with renowned choirs and symphony orchestras, with the leading conductors. In 2023, he was chosen to deliver the "Kel Male Rachamim" prayer at the main ceremony marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, at the United Nations building in New York. In 2022, he was the cantor for the High Holidays at the Chabad of Belgravia in London. Since 2023 he serves as the Chief Cantor of the legendary Yeshurun synagogue in Jerusalem. He lives with his family in New York.
